Ghost Busting

So... I ate a Ghost Chile Burger. Not as bad as I expected, but terrible nonetheless. And painful. Twice. Glad to say I've done it and have to admit, I'll probably do it again... but not for a while. If you want to try the heat, head down to Hideout Burgers in Mansfield, TX. Sign a waiver, pay the lady at the counter and yer on the way to hell in yer mouth. Finish the whole thing, and you too can be on the Wall Of Flame! There were only two others on the WoF when I got there, so I was kinda worried. Turns out, they use a disposable film camera to take the pics and don't get them developed very often. I should be up there soon with the other 23 folks on the roll of film. Following video was shot by my buddy Stubby while he watched and laughed, and edited by Jeff "MoFoCo" Wood. FIRE!!!

Perfectly Simple

It sucks getting a flat on your bike. It sucks more using a compact frame pump. It sucks most when you don't have a pump at all (but you should know better than that). Make yourself a simple tool and never get stuck again. It would fit in even a small seat post bag, and you know there are car tires full of air everywhere. Don't think of it as stealing, because you are keeping your bicycle on the road. That's a good thing!

Homebrew Day

I sat in on a homebrew day with my buddy Stubby recently. We brewed a Belgian Tripel... can't wait to get a taste. Check out the pics of our brew day and Stubby's great brew system. You can also check out this video my buddy Jeff from Mofoco made of the brew day the previous Sunday on the same system.

Shinyribs

If you haven't heard or seen Shinyribs yet, you don't know what yer missing. Also known as Kevin Russell of The Gourds, Shinyribs is the front man of a band of great musicians that put on an even greater show every time I get the opportunity to see them play. Follow Shinyribs on facebook or on Twitter to find out when he's playing in yer town.

I had a Six Flags day!

Took the day off yesterday to use 3 free Six Flags that were about to expire. The lady at the parking gate told me to "have a Six Flags day!". Still not sure what exactly that means, but whatever. It was at least 105° and seemed even hotter standing in lines with lots of people. I remember when you could smoke while waiting in line at Six Flags and yesterday made me think of that. Had a good time in spite of the heat and rode the Judge Roy Scream for the first time in 15 years, and it was my daughter's first time on a real roller coaster, ever. Good times! I won't be going back to Six Flags any time soon though.

FFB Plays the Omni Hotel

Played at the Omni Hotel in Downtown FW tonight... first time. Good show, good crowd, great beer and food. Can't wait to do it again. It was nice having bell hop roadies. It was even nicer seeing lots of familiar faces in the crowd having a good time. Our friend Jerrel was there painting while we played... I've gotta get one of those longhorn beer mugs! The only downside tonight was trying to leave with all of our gear while the Kenneth Copeland convention let out across the street and most of the people there seemed to be staying at the Omni. Weird vibes all around... and no one was laughing. In the end it was a good night, goodnight.

Possum Kingdom

Finished my last big job today. Saw some interesting things on the way, but I'll have to go back for pics. Planning a weekend bicycle camping trip out here soon, so I guess it will have to be then.

Loaded up and ready for work and play... Bikes and tools!

THE BAKER HOTEL in Mineral Wells, seen on the way to PK or anytime you go into Mineral Wells. I hear this place is haunted, but I don't buy it. It's old, abandoned and creepy looking from the pics I've seen of the inside recently. I also hear that you could still possibly tour this place... interesting!

Got to the lake, finally... great views out there. Got the misting system done today. I had to paint the pipes and the valve that I put in, but I got to do it on a raft on the side of the boat house. I like marine plumbing more than I had imagined. That paint won't last 6 months, but it was worth it.
